Refund and Cancellation Policy

Short version: cancel whenever you like from Settings, and if you are within 14 days of a charge, ask us and we will refund it in full. We would rather refund you than argue with you.

Version 1.0 Effective 2026-09-18 Issued by ZHCLOUD LLC

1. Cancelling a subscription

You can cancel Pro Monthly or Pro Annual at any time, yourself, from Settings → Subscription → Cancel. It takes two clicks, needs no email, no phone call and no reason. We show a confirmation on screen and send one by email.

After cancelling, your Pro access continues until the end of the period you have already paid for, and you are not charged again. Your account reverts to the Free plan rather than closing, so your journal entries stay where they are. Cancelling a subscription is not the same as deleting your account — see the your data page for that.

2. The 14-day refund

We refund in full, on request and without argument, when either of the following applies:

  • You are within 14 days of your first paid subscription charge; or
  • You are within 14 days of any automatic renewal charge — including the case where the renewal simply caught you by surprise.

You do not need to justify the request and we do not require you to have stopped using the product. When we issue this refund we cancel the subscription at the same time, so you are not charged again.

3. The Annual Seasonal Report

The report is generated on demand for the year and profile you choose, so the rules differ slightly:

  • Full refund within 14 days if you have not yet downloaded it.
  • If you have downloaded it and it is not what the sample page said it would be, tell us what is missing or wrong and we will refund it. We will not use "you already downloaded it" as a reason to refuse a fair request.
  • If a technical fault stopped delivery, we refund or re-issue, whichever you prefer.
  • If you bought the report and then subscribed to Pro Annual, which already includes the current-year report, we refund the duplicate.

4. Outside the 14 days

Once the window has passed we do not routinely refund unused time on a period you have already started, because you keep full access for all of it. We will still refund, in whole or in part, in these cases:

  • Duplicate or repeated charge — always refunded in full.
  • Unauthorised charge — if someone used your card without permission, we refund and help you secure the account.
  • Charged after cancelling — always refunded in full; that is our error.
  • Extended outage or a defect we could not fix — pro-rata refund for the affected time.
  • We materially cut what your paid plan includes mid-period — pro-rata refund of the remainder if you cancel over it.
  • We closed your account without cause — pro-rata refund of the unused period.
  • Death or serious illness of the account holder — refunded on request from the account holder or their representative, with no window and no documentation demanded up front.

5. Statutory rights, which come on top

Nothing here reduces rights the law gives you and does not let us waive.

  • European Union, United Kingdom, and comparable regimes — you generally have a 14-day right of withdrawal on distance contracts for digital services. Where you asked for immediate access and acknowledged losing that right, we still apply our own 14-day policy above, so you end up no worse off.
  • Australia — the Australian Consumer Law guarantees are not excluded by this policy.
  • Elsewhere — where your local consumer law gives you a stronger remedy than this policy, your local law wins. Say so in your message and we will apply it.

6. How to request a refund

  1. Email billing@e5elements.com from the address on the account, or from any address if you also tell us the account email.
  2. Include the charge date and amount, or the order or receipt number if you have it. The statement descriptor you are looking for is E5ELEMENTS.
  3. You may say why, and it helps us fix things, but it is not a condition.

We reply with a decision within 2 business days. Approved refunds are submitted immediately to the original payment method — we cannot refund to a different card or account. Your bank then typically takes 5 to 10 business days to post it. If your card has since expired or been closed, your bank normally still routes the refund to the replacement account; if it does not, contact us and we will find another lawful route.

Currency conversion is your bank's, not ours. If the exchange rate moved between the charge and the refund, the amount in your local currency may differ slightly from what you originally paid. We refund the full US dollar amount charged.

7. Please talk to us before disputing

If you do not recognise a charge, email billing@e5elements.com before filing a chargeback. We will identify the transaction and, where this policy applies, refund it directly — which is faster for you than a bank dispute and lets us fix whatever caused the confusion. We will not retaliate for a dispute, and filing one does not forfeit your rights under this policy.

8. When we may decline

We may refuse a refund where a request is outside every case above and no statutory right applies, or where an account shows a clear pattern of buying, refunding and re-buying to obtain paid features without paying. We will always tell you which reason applies and what evidence we relied on, and you can ask us to look again.

9. If you disagree with our decision

Reply and ask for it to be reviewed; a second person looks at it. If you are still unsatisfied you keep every other remedy available to you, including your card issuer's dispute process and your local consumer protection body. We will not treat escalation as a reason to restrict your account.
